Chongqing Grand Theatre’s building, designed with a distinctive “sail and shadow” theme, looks like a kaleidoscopic prism on the river. The theatre holds operas, dramas, concerts, and exhibits events regularly, which provides cultural activities and world-class entertainment.
Chongqing Grand Theatre located at Jiangbeizui CBD near to the Chongqing Science and Technology Museum, and the Line 6 of CRT is close to the theatre. The theatre was established since 2008, the whole investment fund is about 16 billion yuan, the architecture has 7 floors on the ground and two floors underground, and its outside wall is made by glass. It can satisfied the use for 100 years due to its strong equipment and design techniques, audiences could experience good sound effects even the actors do not have microphones.
The irregular construction of the theatre looks like a huge glasshouse; it looks extraordinary especially in the evening with lights on. Visitors could see the views of both Chongqing Grand Theatre and Hongyadong on the Qiansimen Bridge, and you would find crowded population on the bridge at night.
