The year 2021 has arrived, and people in Chongqing had many different ways to celebrate the new year.

On December 26, community volunteers from Wansheng Economic Development Zone sent brand new winter clothes to children.

On December 25, in Danzishi Old Street, Nan'an District, people dressed in Han costumes and enjoyed the Zigong Lantern Show.

On December 29, at Jinyun Kindergarten in Beibei District, children participated in New Year's Day performances.

On December 30, Chongqing Mountaineering for Greeting the Year 2021 was held in Dingshan Park, Jiangjin District.

Nearly 2,000 mountaineering enthusiasts from all over the city gathered here to welcome the new year's coming by mountaineering.

As a traditional mass fitness activity in our city, this mountaineering activity was sponsored by the Chongqing Administration of Sport, the Working Committee of Departments under the CPC Chongqing Municipal Committee, and the People's Government of Jiangjin District. The activity included a 5-km mountaineering competition and an 8-km mountaineering competition in four groups: municipal-level department group, district/county-level group, Jiangjin District competition group, and Jiangjin District experience group, attracting nearly 2,000 mountaineering enthusiasts.

On December 24, students in Qianjiang District greeted New Year's Day with a group gymnastics performance.

On the morning of the 30th, even the freezing weather could not cool down the thrilled participants. At 9:00 am, there was a scene of citizens warming up at the starting point. "Climbing mountain before the coming of the new year not only contributes to good health but also stands for reaching new heights, which is, of course, not-to-be-missed," said Li Jialin, a local citizen. In addition to enthusiasts, there were also some professional runners like Zhang Huiji. "I have participated in mountaineering a couple of times. Unlike a marathon, mountaineering features fresh air and a spacious venue, which allows me to further exploit my advantages." Zhang Huiji said.

On December 30, at Yudaishan Primary School in Jiangbei District, children performed a song and dance, Your Sweet Smile, to celebrate New Year's Day.

After fierce competition, the delegations of SWAT Corps of Chongqing Municipal Public Security Bureau, External Liaison Office of Chongqing Municipal People's Government, and Chongqing Municipal Judicial Bureau scored the top three of municipal-level department group; the delegations of Tongliang District, Fuling District, and Chongqing High-tech Industrial Development Zone the top three of the district/county-level group; Yang Xiuhui, Tang Zhen, and Shen Haiyong the top three of the Jiangjin District male competition group; Zhang Huiji, He Hongmei, and Zhou Liting the top three of the Jiangjin District female competition group.

On December 27, citizens selected New Year's decorations in Yongchuan Trade City.
