On September 1, Chongqing Integrated Circuits Industry-University-Research Institute Collaborative Innovation Exchange Meeting was held at Chongqing Xiantao International Big Data Valley. As the first integrated circuit activity of the Smart China Expo Online 2020 (SCE OL 2020), it has invited prestigious academicians and experts such as Shen Changxiang, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and member of the State Integrated Circuit Industrial Development Consulting Commission, and elites from all walks of life to delve into new ideas and moves on how to develop the integrated circuit industry in a new era.

Hosted by the Organizing Committee of the Smart China Expo, organized by Chongqing Economic and Information Technology Commission and the People's Government of Yubei District and co-organized by Chongqing Xiantao International Big Data Valley Investment Management Co., Ltd. and Yingtang Usoft Cloud (Chongqing) Company, it has attracted more than 70 representatives from enterprises, scientific institutions, and investment agencies.

In his keynote speech titled An Exploration into the Future and Development of the Integrated Circuit Industry, Shen mentioned an integrated circuit as the bedrock of the Internet and stressed the importance of seizing opportunities, promoting innovation-driven development, and making breakthroughs in core technologies for a secure, trustworthy integrated circuit industry.

Chongqing has been pushing forward with the strategic development action plan driven by innovation and led by big data intelligence. Over the past years, it has worked hard to build "a powerhouse of smart manufacturing" with an industrial chain covering key industries of "chips, LCD panels, electrical devices, core components, and IoT" and "a famous smart city" with a cluster of factors ranging from "cloud, network, big data, cloud computing to application." In 2019, the industrial output rose by 5.2 times year on year, and in the first half this year, the industrial value reached 12.12 billion yuan, up 34.1% year on year.

Next, Chongqing will redouble efforts to create an enabling industrial ecology for an integrated circuit. In so doing, it aims to lead the way in China's integrated circuit innovation, scale up the industrial value to more than 100 billion yuan and make it into the "first phalanx" of China's integrated circuit industry by 2022.
