The 2020 Chongqing Science and Technology Week will open on August 23 (this Sunday) in the Expo Garden. Under the theme of “Fight COVID-19 with Science and Technology, Develop China with Innovation”, this year’s event lasts from August 23 to 29. The two-day Science and Technology Innovation and Science Popularization Achievements Exhibition, as the highlight, will begin at the same time, welcoming visitors free of charge.

The exhibition comprises four sections, namely Fight COVID-19 with Science and Technology, Smart Manufacturing, Beautiful Life, and Alleviate Poverty with Science and Technology. Relevant innovation and science popularization achievements will be presented to visitors with interactive and experiential activities.

The Fight COVID-19 with Science and Technology section is going to embed the whole process of epidemic fighting from the discovery of suspected cases, tracking of infection sources, virus testing, telediagnosis, and tile treatment, and curing of severe cases in different scenarios. As a result, it can exhibit the effects of the fight and fruits of science and technology (S&T) innovation, and promote knowledge concerning epidemic prevention and control. The Smart Manufacturing section incorporates interactive projects about smart logistics, self-driving vehicles, and 3D printing, to display the achievements of innovation-supported high-quality economic development. The Beautiful Life section involves the smart home, medical care, rescue equipment, and service robots, to showcase the S&T-based improvement in people’s livelihood.

The Alleviate Poverty with the Science and Technology section will bring smart agriculture platforms, new technologies and facilities, and specialized agricultural products to visitors. Additionally, S&T commissioners of Chongqing are ready for the live-streaming sales of farm products from poverty-stricken areas.
