On December 18, the Cultural Development Research Institute of Chongqing was officially renamed as Cultural and Tourism Development Research Institute of Chongqing, which marked that cultural and tourism integration development of Chongqing started assembly for construction of the think tank.

Completion of 17 major cultural research projects within five years

It is understood that since its establishment in April 1998, the Cultural Development Research Institute of Chongqing has performed plenty of productive work in exploring the cultural connotation of Bayu, promoting the construction of the cultural corridor along the three gorges of the Yangtze river, and creating cultural tourism scenic spots with Chongqing characteristics. Especially in recent years, the Research Institute integrated full-time and part-time researchers from colleges and universities to carry out 17 major cultural research projects in six categories and achieved the expected results.

Creating first-class cultural tourism think tank in Western China

The current Cultural and Tourism Development Research Institute of Chongqing has more than 230 new and old members and specially invited experts and scholars. They are influential figures in the cultural, tourism, media, and business circles.

Xing Jun, deputy director of Chongqing Municipal Commission of Culture and Tourism Development, believed that the Research Institute would be able to provide scientific and effective intellectual supports for the major decision-making, key work and major projects of the cultural and tourism integration development in Chongqing, as well as such services for the hot operation and expanding growth of the city’s cultural tourism system.

Chongqing’s cultural and tourism to focus on five aspects

According to the relevant person in charge of the Research Institute, in the current and the next five years, the Research Institute will focus on the cultural and tourism integration in Chongqing from five aspects.

First, it will provide strong intellectual support for the urgent need for cultural and tourism development. Second, it will organize the strategic research on the integrated development of culture and tourism, and submit the test results for decision-making reference. Third, facing the market and basic needs will drive the accurate landing, efficient operation, and sustainable development of cultural and tourism projects. In addition, it will hold the cross-regional exchanges and cooperation on the development of cultural and tourism and promote the cultural and tourism projects in Chongqing to go out. Fourth, it will cultivate the cultural and tourism development brands and make efforts to build a cultural and tourism fusion IP cluster with remarkable Chongqing characteristics. Fifth, by launching warm and insightful original articles, it will operate the We Media platform of Great Cultural and Tourism in a reasonable manner.
