Chongqing - With the theme “Design for Sustainability and Environment”, Italian Design Icons (IDI) 2019 Edition held on June 14 - 16 at TESTBED 2 in E`ling, Chongqing.

IDI - Italian Design Icons organized by Eastant Communication & Events in collaboration with the Italian Consulate General in Chongqing. Experience Italian beauty, creativity and design in all its splendor in the mountain metropolis, over the course of an exclusive 3-day exhibition of some of the most iconic Italian brands coming together for sustainability and the environment.

Italian Design Icons (IDI) 2019 Edition

Throughout the three days of exhibitions, top Italian architects, designers, professors, and key opinion leaders from exhibiting brands & experts delivered lectures. Guest speakers gave seminar lectures to explain how their company or products link to sustainability and environmentally friendly use.

A splendid collection of acclaimed Italian brands such as Ansaldo Breda, IGuzzini, Maserati, Poltrona Frau, and Pirelli aim to embrace sustainability, bring it forward and share knowledge from various industries, from lighting to furniture, vehicles to transportation.

According to Gaby Gan, marketing supervisor from iGuzzini, an Italian lighting company, an international leader in the field of architectural lighting, she illustrated some cases study of how their product and design save electric energy by installing LED technology into a building in Shanghai. “It needs 2.160w when compared with a similar project with fluorescent of a usage 30.096w”, she explained their lighting innovation for people and how lighting is directed.

Ulrich Antoni, Head of Natural Rubber Procurement from Pirelli, stated how the company contributes to the sustainability of natural rubber use. Pirelli ranks the world`s top 5 tires supplier of associated services. “Pirelli is also the only pure consumer tire company, which means we do not interpose the natural rubber business. We do not intervene in the production of this resource-strapped crop by natural rubber farmers, to make the use of this resource sustainable”, Antoni said.
