On April 11, China Unicom 5G experiencing car made its debut at the opening ceremony of the Intelligent Manufacturing Experience Exchange Meeting & Industrial Internet Activity in Chongqing. The experiencing car made a stage pose together with the 5G intelligent industrial robot and the 5G mobile phone, marking the official launch of the one-month exhibition tour of China Unicom 5G experiencing car under the theme of 5G in Chongqing within reach.

5G high technology in four application scenarios

In the field of industrial AR collaborative design, backed by its large bandwidth and low latency, 5G network enables the automobile industry to realize the effective collaborative design in different places, so as to improve efficiency and save costs. 

The 5G intelligent industrial robot is accessible on site for citizens to experience remote precise control over harsh environments with radiation, air pollution, and harmful magnetic fields that may exist in 5G network.

In terms of environmental protection, people can experience the whole-process response mechanism of 5G smart water controls through the real-time water quality monitoring by the 5G unmanned ships and the real-time video transmission by the 5G drone. As for education, the 5G network facilitates the high efficiency and vividness of the VR industry-research interactive teaching.

5G technology speeds up intelligent manufacturing in Chongqing

In order to promote the acceleration and upgrading the intelligent manufacturing enterprises in Chongqing, China Unicom Chongqing Branch (Chongqing Unicom) showcase the key technologies. On the basis of the launched 5G intelligent manufacturing and industrial Internet application scenarios, Chongqing Unicom displayed on the spot the MEC digital factory platform, the SRM supply chain coordination platform, the MDM material coding platform, and the WPSP intelligent park management platform. It aims to help the participants understand the core capabilities and key technologies in the field of industrial Internet.

In the meanwhile, the representative of Chongqing Unicom, as an industry expert, delivered a keynote speech of The Rise and Application of Edge Computing at the meeting.

The introduction of 5G on the experience car

One-month exhibition tour of the experiencing car in Chongqing

For the upcoming World Telecommunications Day on May 17, China Unicom 5G experiencing car will conduct the one-month experience interaction in various regions of Chongqing in the form of exhibition tour centered on “5G in Chongqing is within reach” from April 11. This way allows enterprises and citizens to feel the changes made by 5G network to future life and society. Furthermore, it is aimed at implementing the innovation-driven development strategy action plan led by big data with practical actions and facilitating in-depth integration of the digital economy and the real economy in Chongqing.

China Unicom has launched 5G trials in 17 cities across the country, covering over 100 application scenarios of 11 industries, and it focuses on promoting the settlement of the applications integrated with the Unicom 5G industry, so as to unleash a new driving force of the digital economy.

However, Chongqing Unicom has constructed more than 100 5G base stations in its central urban area, and districts and counties, and it will own nearly 2,000 stations by the end of 2019. Meanwhile, it has built a number of testing environments, including the Internet of Vehicles scenario, smart tourism scenario, as well as red education one.
