The container lorry of ASEAN Regular Lorry will begin from Chongqing and arrive in Singapore directly. In addition, it will go through Vietnam, Thailand and other two Southeast Asian countries and important logistics nodes.

Function—Starting a New Journey of the Farthest Land Transportation

The test route departs from the ASEAN Regular Lorry — Chongqing Nanpeng Highway Bonded Logistics Center (Type B). Meanwhile, the route is “Banan, Chongqing – Youyiguan, Pingxiang, Guangxi – Vietnam – Laos – Thailand – Malaysia – Singapore”. It covers a total length of around 4,500km within about 7 days. Moreover, it is the longest journey of Chongqing-ASEAN Regular Lorry by far. This marks the completion of cross-border highway freight channels connecting the Land Silk Road and the Maritime Silk Road.

Method—On the Basis of Complementary Advantages to Create an Innovation Model of Urban Supply Chain

The Lorry takes land transportation during the whole journey with a 45-feet container as the transport unit. In the meantime, the original container shall be shipped from the place of departure to the destination without delays in shift. The cargo departs from Banan, Chongqing, and will arrive in Singapore directly. In addition, it will pass major countries and important logistics nodes such as Vietnam, Thailand, Laos, and Malaysia. This test is the result of the cooperation between Singapore-YCH Group and other partners in the concept of “mutual logistics suppliers” by Chongqing-ASEAN International Logispark.

Significance—Ushering in a New Era of Highway Transportation

The test route for Chongqing- Singapore ASEAN Regular Lorry embraces the new era of highway transportation

Chongqing is located at the junction of the “Y”-shaped passageway of the Yangtze River Economic Belt. The city connects the China Railway Express in the northwest and the ASEAN Regular Lorry network in the south. With the opening of Chongqing- Singapore ASEAN Regular Lorry, the lorry achieved full coverage of the Indochina Peninsula countries. It further promotes the brand effect of “Chongqing-ASEAN Regular Lorry”. Furthermore, it fully meets the international logistics and freight transport needs of domestic manufacturing enterprises and processing trade enterprises in Southwest China. At the same time, it also propels Nanpeng Highway Bonded Logistics Center (Type B) to become a distribution center. Therefore, this stimulates the development of Chongqing’s export-oriented economy. It helps Chongqing to become an inland international logistics distribution center. In the meanwhile, it enhances the competitiveness of Chongqing as an “international supply chain”.
