Chongqing Precision Biotech Co., Ltd. signed a cooperation agreement with Pall Corporation (the UK) on November 27. The two sides will build the Genetic and Cellular Transformation Platform for Research and Development in Chongqing. Thus, it will accelerate the research and development as well as production transformation of genetic and cellular drugs.

Based on the strategic cooperation agreement, they will purchase the equipment with a joint investment of RMB 20 million. Meanwhile, in cooperation with each other, they will speed up the research and development as well as production transformation of genetic and cellular drugs. Moreover, they will set up a laboratory for the packaging of lentiviral vectors and downstream purification. Afterward, the two sides are going to do research and develop the optimum process conditions for CAR-T products. CAR-T refers to the chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy, which is a type of immunotherapy. In addition, compared with chemotherapy which can remove cancer cells and kill healthy cells, CAR T-cell therapy can kill cancer cells more accurately. Insiders, therefore, consider it as the hope of fighting cancer.

Besides the establishment of the platform, Chongqing Precision Biotech Co., Ltd. will also conduct a full range of close cooperation with Pall Corporation in the aspects of process development, technical exchange, talent cultivation, authentication service, and market promotion. And then it strives to solve the bottleneck in technology and equipment of gene and virus vector production.
