In our last episode, we talked about the term "motion," which is relevant to deputies to the National People's Congress (NPC). Today, we're going to learn another phrase related to the term "proposal" used by the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), which is strictly an advisory body.
Unlike elected officials of the NPC, the CPPCC National Committee members are nominated upon recommendation. They come from 34 parties and circles, including the Jiusan Society and the China Democratic League.
CPPCC members put forward their opinions and suggestions according to the party or circle they belong to and form their own proposals at the end. Once their proposals have been submitted for approval, the relevant government departments will take care of the rest.
