Chongqing - In 2022, the scale of Chongqing's foreign trade has reached a new level, with steadily improved quality and growing foreign trade.
Wang Honghan, deputy commissioner of Chongqing Customs District, said at the press conference that the total value of Chongqing's imports and exports in 2022 reached 815.84 billion yuan (about USD 120.65 billion), hit a record high, an increase of 2% over the previous year.
Among them, exports were 524.53 billion yuan (about USD 77.58 billion), an increase of 1.5%, and imports were 291.31 billion yuan (about USD 43.08 billion), an increase of 2.9%.
Chongqing's combined export and import value continued to maintain the second place among the 12 provincial regions in western China, accounting for 21.1% of the total foreign trade value of the western region in the same period.

Wang said that the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor (ILSTC) is important for Chongqing's future development and a significant platform to support and promote Chongqing's high-quality development.
To deepen regional cooperation and ensure smooth flow, Chongqing Customs District will play the leading role in the regional customs coordination mechanism, cooperating with customs at ports such as Qinzhou, Pingxiang, and Mohan, accelerating customs clearance of goods urgently needed by enterprises, and maintaining the smooth circulation of the industrial chain and supply chain.
They will also take the lead in information sharing with Singapore Customs by opening China-Myanmar-India and China-Lao-Thailand lines to improve the radiation range of trains.
Relying on scientific and technological means such as centralized image review, intelligent image review, and smart inspection, an intelligent logistics supervision model was launched in Guoyuan Port to help extend the starting point of the rail-rail intermodal train from Tuanjie Village to Xiaonanya Station.
To integrate the railway-highway-waterway multiple modes of transportation, Chongqing Customs District will promote the seamless connection of the ILSTC with the China Railway Express and the Yangtze River golden waterway.
To promote economic and trade development and stabilize the market, Chongqing Customs District will strengthen the tracking and research of technical and trade measures in ASEAN countries, promote the implementation of tariff concessions, and guide enterprises to make good use of Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership policy dividends and reduce operating costs.
