Chongqing - The 2022 Chongqing·Singapore Experience Week will kick off in Chongqing Yuzhong District from October 29 to November 13; engaging activities like Singapore characteristic experience, business negotiation, and tourism promotion will promote the construction of international consumption city, according to a press conference on October 26.

Chongqing and Singapore will make the best of the China-Singapore (Chongqing) Demonstration Initiative on Strategic Connectivity (CCI) to explore new areas of cooperation.

Drawing on Singapore's advanced experience in emerging areas such as green development, commercial arbitration, intelligent cities, and fintech, the 2022 Chongqing·Singapore Experience Week involves a series of activities, including China (Chongqing) Singapore International Green Development Summit Forum, China (Chongqing) Singapore Arbitration Culture Promotion, Singapore Smart City Construction Experience Sharing Conference, China (Chongqing) Singapore Fintech Dialogue.

Furthermore, some characteristic activities involve, for example, citizens and foreigners can enjoy an urban camping festival at Raffles City Chongqing, where they could also enjoy an international photography exhibition and live music festival at Liujia Wharf in Jiangbei District.

Multiple Singaporean international brands will be introduced at the scene and bring Chongqing citizens a rich international consumption experience, allowing them to feel the authentic Singapore culture.

It is worth mentioning that the "Yujian · New journey" promotional activities will be a good consumer experience and a place for Internet celebrities to check out. This activity combines food, shopping, brand display, lighting art, artistic performance, and tourism promotion. It will be presented at Jiefangbei Pedestrian Street, a must-go destination for tourists to Chongqing, where one can enjoy shopping and various delicious foods.

"At the 'Yujian · New journey' activity, we will offer tourism experience areas that imitate Singapore's famous scenic spots, such as Changi Airport and Mandai Singapore Zoo, and bring the Singapore i-Light abroad for the first time," said an official from the Ministry of Trade and Industry Singapore.

He continued, the i-Light is designed with energy-efficient lighting and environmentally friendly materials, and the exhibition will also include fusion with Chongqing's excellent lighting artworks, said an official from the Ministry of Trade and Industry Singapore.

Since the implementation of the CCI, the cooperation between Chongqing and Singapore has gone deeper. The CCI-New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor, which connects the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road and the overland Silk Road Economic Belt of the Belt and Road Initiative, has enhanced connectivity between China and ASEAN countries. The CCI has been regarded as a successful case of high-quality development of the Belt and Road Initiative.

By the end of September this year, 218 government and commercial cooperation projects valued at 25.26 billion U.S. dollars and 235 financial service projects worth 29.04 billion U.S. dollars landed through the CCI.
