Chongqing- "As long as each of us adheres to the craftsmanship's spirit in every procedure, products made in China will become boutiques with competitive and quality ones," said Liu Yuan, delegate to the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC), and a senior electromechanical technician and senior electrical engineer of Yubei plant of Chongqing Changan Automobile Co., Ltd.
Starting as a maintenance master, Liu has overcome a series of challenges to become a prestigious skill master in the industry. While contributing to the development of Changan Automobile's brand, he witnessed the intelligent transformation of Chongqing manufacturing.

"Master Liu, please come here!" When there is a problem involving mechanical and electrical maintenance in Changan Automobile, the colleagues immediately ask Liu for advice.
One time, the Swiss-imported robotic arm on the stamping production line of the Yubei plant of Changan Automobile suddenly stopped running. As stamping is the first process of vehicle manufacturing, the entire production line will be shut down, and as a result, the loss can be easily imagined.
Liu was soon asked to deal with the problem and made his preliminary judgment: the communication module was damaged. However, there were no replaceable modules in China at that time several years ago, and it would take a very long time to ship them abroad for maintenance.
Without knowing the module's internal structure, Liu found a problem with the power supply based on his experience and research.
With a comprehensive judgment of the components' use and pressure resistance degree, Liu successfully made a replacement and started to repair the robotic arm. He managed to get it working again, which even astonished foreign engineers stationed in the factory.
"This made me realize that foreign technology is not insurmountable, and others must not control the core maintenance technology," he said.
As Liu is committed to technological innovation, he has led the team to grapple with difficulties of automation equipment maintenance, breaking through several foreign technical blockades, and realizing the production and maintenance of key equipment independently.

As today China's manufacturing eyes green, low-carbon transformation, the automobile industry is undergoing a century of challenges, while Changan Automobile is also accelerating its transformation into an intelligent low-carbon travel technology company.
"There was no shortcut, and all you can do is to keep learning, from manufacturers to specialized training institutions, and to understand and master the new knowledge step by step," said Liu.
