Chongqing- Dazu, located in the west suburb of Chongqing City, is famous worldwide as the home of Rock Carving. It's based in a beautiful landscape, and Dazu Rock Carvings is a world heritage site 160 kilometers to the west of Chongqing. Over 60,000 carved stone figures relating mainly to Buddhism have spread around 76 places in Dazu.

But there is more to this beautiful area, with mountains in the distance and beautiful lakes and parks. Numerous hotels are located in Dazu's urban area and around the Baodingshan area.

Enjoying this area with the family is a must. If you want food or recreation, this area is for you. There are plenty of attractions for all ages, and it seems to be a great place to fly a kite or take the dog for a walk. Don't forget the fantastic light show at night when Dazu illuminates its buildings to some amazing choreographed music.
