Chongqing - The marathon for Chongqing runners in 2022 is coming! The 2022 Chongqing Changjiahui Half Marathon will be opened in Nanbin Park on April 17. The registration channel has already been opened.

To make the tracks wider and the environment safer and more comfortable with more professional facilities, the half marathon was removed from Chongqing International Marathon in 2020. However, it does not mean that the city disregarded the needs of runners who wanted to participate in the half marathon along Nanbin Road. In 2021, Chongqing launched Changjiahui Half Marathon.

Besides, the city selected the best track of the Chongqing International Marathon for the half marathon. It comprises six bridges across the Yangtze River as well as numerous historical and cultural landmarks such as Nanbin Park, Longmenhao Old Street, Ciyun Temple, National Palace Museum Cultural Relics South Migration Memorial Hall in Chongqing, Yangtze River Art Plaza, Former Site of Press Onward, Former Site of French Naval Military Camp, Danzishi Old Street and Chongqing International Circus City.

With an elevation difference of less than 10 m, this track is relatively flat, which may help runners to beat their personal best (PB). During the 2021 Changjiahui Half Marathon, 368 male runners completed the marathon within 1.5 hours, and 141 female runners completed it within one hour and 45 minutes. Many of them beat their PB in the competition.

It is worth mentioning that Changjiahui Half Marathon, as a constituent race of the Chongqing Marathon series, is the only half marathon in China that could give runners qualification for Chongqing International Marathon. The top 1,000 runners, including 500 males and 500 females, in Changjiahui Half Marathon, will qualify.

This year, the event will gather 20,000 runners, including 10,000 for a half marathon (21.0975 km) and 10,000 for a happy run (7.1 km). The registration channel opened on 10:00 a.m., April 21, and will be closed when all the places are occupied.
