Dou Xiaoman is a wholly-owned financial service company under Baidu, exploring and leveraging tech applications in the financial sector and promoting the development of digital finance. It is committed to inclusive finance and building a platform to serve micro and small enterprises.
In 2020, the company provided over 300 billion yuan($47.1 billion) of financing for micro and small enterprises as well as owners of them, reducing risks and average interest rates by 25% and 10%, respectively, while increasing per capita lending by 35%, thus effectively addressing the bottleneck of expensive and challenging financing for such businesses. It has also launched the “Xiaoman Help Initiative” to make farmers well-off, with its services covering 50,000 plus rural households.
