Chongqing- According to the epidemiological investigation results, the task force believed that the transmission chain of the two confirmed cases in Chongqing Jiangjin District had been clarified, and the source of infection was identified.
Zhang Huadong, deputy director of Chongqing Municipal Center for Disease Control and Prevention, informed the survey results on the source of transmission of confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Jiangjin District on August 5, where its transmission chain and source of the virus is related to a confirmed case in Macao.

The epidemiological investigation showed that the two confirmed cases stayed in Jiangjin from July 12 to 20. They traveled to Xi’an from July 21 to 24 and returned to Jiangjin on July 24.
The investigation finds out that the two cases visited the Museum of Qin Terra-cotta Warriors and Horses in Xi’an on July 23, where they had contact with a person in the museum at that time, whose last name is Ou from Macao, and was later confirmed as infected.

Ou flew from Zhuhai to Xi’an on July 19, and its previous flight from Nanjing to Zhuhai had two confirmed cases from Guangdong.
Therefore, Ou was at risk of infection on the flight. After his infection, his parents became infected and were confirmed as COVID-19 in Macao on August 3.

After sequencing and comparing the viral genes of two confirmed cases in Jiangjin District, the results show that the viral gene sequence results are consistent with those of two confirmed cases of Guangdong who flew Nanjing to Zhuhai and Ou's parents, and the full genetic sequencing of the virus of Ou is carried out urgently.
