Chongqing- As of August 1, close contacts, sub-close contacts, and the first round of nucleic acid testing in the controlled area of Jiangjin, Dadukou district, and other places have sampled 235,372 people, where 212,303 people have been tested, all of which are negative; 3463 environmental specimens have been collected, and all of them were negative as well, according to Li Pan, member of the party committee and deputy director of the Chongqing Municipal Health Commission.

Jiangjin District reported two confirmed cases of COVID-19 on July 30. After conducting genetic sequencing of pharyngeal nasopharyngeal swab samples, the results showed that they were Delta mutant strains.

Li said that the rest of the test specimens are being tested underway. Chongqing is rapidly carrying out epidemiological investigations, nucleic acid testing, environmental disinfection, and medical treatment.

Enhance Traceability

Specifically, this involves pushing forward the investigation of epidemiology and traceability, with multiple channels and examining for people as well as their related things.

Meanwhile, an epidemiological investigation has been done deeply and meticulously to grasp the whereabouts of the confirmed cases. At present, the Chongqing Municipal Center for Disease Control and Prevention has completed the sequencing of the viral genes of the case samples.

Perform precise management

According to Li, the involved regions have been divided into different circles for precise management, with different control measures for different circles, based on the epidemiological survey and risk research results.

Conduct nucleic acid testing

Through comprehensive nucleic acid testing, the supplies such as nucleic acid extraction reagents, nucleic acid testing reagents were stored and shared to support nucleic acid testing work in Jiangjin, Dadukou district.

This is to improve the efficiency of nucleic acid testing, making sure the testing can be carried out orderly for all residents in those areas.

Concentrate medical resources

Additionally, the city concentrates on high-quality medical resources and gives corresponding treatment with Chinese and Western medicine according to the patients' specific conditions.

Equipped by a multi-disciplinary team of experts, the COVID-19 patients have carried out refined and individualized therapy with multi-disciplinary treatment, formulating the optimal treatment plan according to the "one person, one plan" rule. The patients’ condition now remains stable.

Li added, the risk of spreading the COVID-19 virus is further increased as the summer vacation is on, which means a higher chance of movement around people.

Chongqing will take more accurate and effective measures to prevent and control the pandemic in the next step.
