Hong'En Temple Park is one of my favorite locations in the city and a place that I'd almost dare to call a Jewel of Chongqing. The pagoda on top of the hill at the Hong'En Temple Forest Park is a spectacular sight, both during the day but especially at night.
Taking these kinds of evening photos can sometimes take some planning, partially you will want to be at the location at a certain time, in this case, around sunset. The front side of the pagoda faces West which means you have spectacular light in the evening, but in the morning and noon time, the light isnøt nearly as appealing.
And of course, as with any popular photo location, you will have to get ready early, otherwise, someone may take your spot. Evening photography also often requires long exposures, so you will need a tripod, although most of my photos this evening were taken hand held, you won't always be able to guarantee a good result that way.
It's time to chase some photos!
