On April 24, Ciqikou Ancient Town witnessed a feast competition of Chongqing noodles. It attracted noodle experts from all over the country.  

The national final of the 8th National Hotel Professional Skill Competition Noodle Competition and Bayu Craftsman Cup, the 2nd National Chongqing Noodle Skill Competition, and the 1st National Chinese Cuisine Skills Competition was grandly opened in the town on the same day. All 983 culinary experts from 21 provinces and cities competed on the same stage, displaying unique techniques.  

The participants were busy making minced meat, hot pepper, noodle dough, and stewing noodles before seasoning. The fragrance of seasoning and noodles permeated the scene. After all, the competition procedures, the gold, silver, bronze, and excellent awards were selected to finalize the noodle competition. Zhang Zhao from Chongqing Jiahe Vocational Training School, Tang Tao from Zhengtuo Pangge beef noodles, and the other ten participants won the gold medal.

In the first place of Gold Award, the chef also received the honorary title of "National Technical Expert" and got a promotion of technician skill level.

In the “Belt and Road” International Food Zone, Chongqing noodles, Chengdu dandan noodles, Japanese ramen noodles, and pasta all made a brilliant appearance through 16 Sichuan and Chongqing noodle restaurants.  

In “Learning Cuisine in Chongqing” Zone, 16 foreign students from Russia, Canada, and other countries along the Belt and Road routes made Chongqing noodles, indulging themselves in the charm of traditional Chinese food.

In the skill exhibition area and World Championships base of Chongqing Noodles Project exhibition area, 12 selected technical colleges, skill master studios, and private vocational training institutions in the city showed their exclusive baking techniques art, hand embroidery, and qipao.   

Now Chongqing noodles have expanded to 83,000 stores in the city. More than 12.6 million bowls of noodles are sold every day, contributing to an annual output value of nearly 15 billion yuan. With nearly 200,000 stores nationwide, the total annual output value reaches more than 40 billion yuan. Since 2017, the national Chongqing noodles skills competition has been held for three consecutive years in Shapingba District, creating nearly 2,000 job opportunities.
