Chongqing Daily News Group signed a strategic cooperation agreement with China Mobile Group Chongqing Company Limited (China Mobile Chongqing) on March 1. It held an opening ceremony for the 5G+ integrated new media innovation laboratory jointly built by both sides. According to the agreement, the two sides will join hands to explore the intelligent communication modes based on 5G technology and the research, development, and production system of new media products to speed up the in-depth integrated development of media.

5G base stations

Chongqing Daily News Group is the largest comprehensive media group in Chongqing while China Mobile Chongqing is a telecom operator with the most extensive network scale and the largest number of users in the city. As of now, it has built more than 15,000 5G base stations. It fully implements the 5G+ plan and empowers the digital transformation and upgrading of various industries in Chongqing with new technologies like 5G.

The cooperation between the two sides mainly involves three fields. First, they will join hands to use 5G technology resources for media coverage. The 5G backpack, the interactive live video caster, and other equipment will be used to build a lightweight studio system to carry out a 5G transmission + lightweight studio live broadcasting on the internet. The system is used for integrated reports based on daily live broadcasting and breaking news reports of Chongqing Daily Newspaper Group.

Second, they will co-build a smart 5G communication demonstration project. They are going to jointly build an influential local smart 5G demonstration project by exploring and constructing the 5G+ integrated new media innovation laboratory and creating a 5G-based new mobile communication mode for high-definition short videos. Taking Smart China Expo 2021 as the platform, they are slated to launch a smart 5G communication exhibition project and carry out relevant exhibition and experience activities.

What's more, the two sides will focus on in-depth integration of media, extensively integrate resources, constantly explore the 5G communication technology, standards, and media products based on the new application of the new technology, and find integrated solutions to media's 5G communication.
