On Feb. 4, Kai, a Canadian who lives in Chongqing, went to a big dinner party with his Chinese family at a BBQ restaurant by the riverside in downtown Chongqing. As 2021 is still a year that we face challenges with COVID-19, people in China were recommended to stay in their city for holiday, the unchanged theme would be a reunion, and the unchanged activities must including mahjong and great food.

In this video, we bring you to Kai’s spring festival stories with his wife’s Wang family. Kai's wife Xiaolin Wang, a local Chongqing woman with her big Wang family gathered in the Guanyinqiao shopping center in the afternoon, we came to the restaurant in the evening and watch them play mahjong. Then, when dinner time was coming, everyone enjoyed lamb BBQ for their dinner. This is a typical way to celebrate the Chinese New Year for Chongqing families.
