Chongqing Municipal Transportation Bureau said the city would officially resume the Three Gorges river route on August 7. The first ship—the Yangtze River Gold No. 2 cruise ship will depart from the Port 15 at Chongqing's Chaotianmen at 9 p.m. on August 7 to Yichang's Maoping.

This is the first Three Gorges trip launched between Chongqing and Yichang after the COVID-19 outbreak. The tour will last four days and three nights, as the ship departures from Chongqing on Friday and returns from Yichang on next Monday. Century Cruises, Chongqing Dongjiang Industrial Co., Ltd., and Chongqing Damei Changjiang Three Gorges Cruise Co., Ltd., will also resume cross-provincial Three Gorges routes.
Following the Guidelines for the Regular Prevention and Control of the Epidemic on Cruise Ships in China, Chongqing Municipal Transportation Bureau immediately studied and implemented the full-chain and closed epidemic prevention and control measures. It required the crew to have a negative nucleic acid test certificate within the past seven days, necessary epidemic prevention supplies are stored onboard, and the cruise ship and the port be disinfected. Passengers should all come from low-risk areas, show their health QR code, and have their body temperature checked when boarding. The number of passengers should also be strictly controlled, especially in the early stage of resumption, the full load rate of a cruise ship should not exceed 50% of the prescribed member of passengers. During the voyage, ventilation and disinfection should be stepped up. Passengers and crew should have their temperature checked at least twice a day, and have meals in different time periods. An emergency response mechanism should be established, and every cruise ship should be equipped with medical personnel to take charge of epidemic prevention, control, and treatment. Once passengers and crew are found to have suspicious symptoms, they should be isolated in time, and workers on board should contact the nearest port to transfer them to the local relevant departments.
