In Tianxiandong Village, Dasheng Town of Yubei District, there is an ancient village called Liaojiawan. It’s like dreamy Shangri-La with colorful fields, eastern Sichuan homestays, and numerous ancient tales.

The Liaojiawan ancient village is divided into five primitive yards, including Shangwan, Zhongwan, Xiawan, Tieluwan, and Gebiwan, built on the hilly land with houses that are well-proportioned and located closely with the clear-cut landscape.

Tieluwan is located at the lowest place. It is a blacksmith’s shop for iron, making armors and agricultural tools. Gebiwan is located at the highest place, where migrants get married and settle down. Six water bodies are lining up before the yards. The gurgling water comes from the underground, forming a glistening water surface. There are assorted vegetable gardens beside the waters.

In the village, you can see chickens looking for wild insects. At the village entrance, you can see some villagers coming back after farm work and giving you a warm smile.
There’s an old well called “Longhuai Old Well,” whose tasty cool water has raised generations of villagers. Now, it has been transformed into a scenic spot under protection.

After a long urban life, it is hard to imagine that there is such a paradise, with not only rising smoke from kitchen chimneys, crowing of cocks and barking of dogs, as well as cultural depth.
