Concerning the current situation of the epidemic, Li said that China's epidemic prevention and control situation continues to improve. However, the risk of a rebound of the epidemic abroad and at home still exists, and there is no room for any slackening of efforts.
"We should control the source and route of infection and protect the susceptible population," stressed Li, adding that this is fundamental to the prevention and control of infectious diseases. Li suggested that it is necessary to form a normalized test for fever patients and set up a fever clinic, which has an irreplaceable role in early detection, early diagnosis, and early treatment of diseases and can make the mechanism for newly emerging infectious diseases more efficient.
She also suggested launching a patriotic public health campaign to create a healthy environment, further optimizing sophisticated intellectual control measures, strengthening inspections of cold chain carriers, logistics goods, and transportation vehicles, and facilitating the resumption of work, production and schooling. The public should strengthen their awareness of self-protection and health civilization, strengthen environmental hygiene and personal hygiene protection, develop good hygiene habits and a healthy lifestyle, and improve their mental health and health literacy.
