The project aiming to upgrade the "Two Rivers and Four Riversides" and connect the banks of the Jialing River with the south bank of the Yangtze River is under design bidding and will strive to start construction this year.

Chongqing plans to launch a 60-kilometer project to connect the "Two Rivers and Four Riversides" this year, and launch a 50-kilometer extension project next year, to comprehensively improve the ecology, landscape, functions, and culture in riverside areas and enhance people's sense of experience and benefit.

Raffles-City-Chongqing

The work under design bidding that aims to connect the banks of the Jialing River with the south bank of the Yangtze River is a part of the 60-kilometer project. Specifically, the Jialing River bank improvement work, with a total investment of about 2.926 billion yuan, will upgrade the facilities related to ecological restoration, landscape architecture, footpaths, buildings (structures), water supply and drainage, electrical and related public facilities of different sections, including Dishuiyan-Ciqikou section of Shabin Road (Dishuiyan-Qingshuixi), Hualong Bridge section of Jiabin Road (Dishuiyan-Jiahua Bridge), Yangpaoju section of Beibin Road (Jinyuan Road-Shuibin Road), Chang'an Wharf section of Beibin Road (Chang'an Wharf-Jialing River Bridge), and Daxigou section of Jiabin Road (Yu'ao Bridge-Hongyadong).

The Yangtze River south bank improvement work, with a total investment of about 2.25 billion yuan, will upgrade the facilities related to ecological restoration, landscape architecture, footpaths, buildings (structures), water supply and drainage, electrical and related public facilities of different sections, including Dafosi section of Nanbin Road (Chaotianmen Bridge- the Circus World), Haitang Yanyu Park section of Nanbin Road (Dongshuimen Bridge-Chongqing Yangtze River Bridge), Tongyuanju section of Nanbin Road (Chongqing Yangtze River Bridge-E'gongyan Bridge), Lijiatuo section of Babin Road (junction of Lijiatuo Bridge and Nan'an District), and Danzishi area (Dongshuimen Bridge-Chaotianmen Bridge).
