According to the unified accounting results of Chongqing GDP, in the first quarter, the city achieved a regional GDP of RMB 498.766 billion, a year-on-year decrease of 6.5%. Among them, the added value of the first industry was RMB 28.737 billion, down 1.6% year-on-year; the added value of the second industry was RMB 172.769 billion, down by 11.0%.
In general, in the first quarter, there was a great impact of COVID-19 on the economic and social development of Chongqing. However, the impact of the epidemic was short-term and generally controllable.
