On September 26, the FANUC Robotics Chongqing Technology Center was put into use in Chongqing Liangjiang New Area Shuitu High-tech Industrial Park, when four of the world’s top five robot manufacturers had settled in the Industrial Park.

The Institute will cooperate with the famous international laser physicist See Leang Chin in the construction of Chongqing’s first strong-field physicist studio in Liangjiang New Area.

The industrial robot giant FANUC settled in the Industrial Park

FANUC Corporation (FANUC for short), established in 1956, is the world’s top enterprise in the numerical control system (CNC) and high-end CNC machine tools, industrial robots, and intelligent machinery. It's professional CNC accounts for 70% of the global market, and the production and sales of its industrial robots rank first worldwide.

On September 26, Chongqing Fanuc Robot Co., Ltd. was officially opened.

As the base of FANUC in West China, FANUC Robotics Chongqing Technology Center has received a total investment of RMB 100 million, and it covers an area of 20,000m2. By capitalizing on the excellent technical resources of FANUC in robots, intelligent machinery, the Internet of Things, artificial intelligence (AI), the center plans to build itself into a base that integrates the design, integration, sales and technical services of the robot system and the intelligent mechanical system.

A strong-field physicist studio to be set up in Liangjiang New Area

Recently, at the 1st International Symposium on Advanced Laser Spectroscopy & Applications, Chongqing Institute of East China Normal University, which settled in Liangjiang New Area in this April, will cooperate with the international famous laser physicist See Leang Chin in the construction of Chongqing’s first strong-field physicist studio in Liangjiang New Area.

The strong-field physicist studio will focus on such fields as precision manufacturing, new energy, new materials, AI, and big data.

Strong-field physics is forming as a new discipline. As one of the essential frontiers in modern physics and even modern science, it plays a crucial role in promoting national strategic high and new technology.

The strong-field physicist studio will focus on such fields as precision manufacturing, new energy, new materials, AI and big data to promote the application of technological achievements of strategic emerging industries in Chongqing and Liangjiang New Area and create new industrial growth points.

In addition, by Chongqing’s excellent students, the studio is going to build international engineering research teams, expand the horizon of researchers, assist students in high-level publishing papers, and help the Institute to set up a first-class industry development and education base.
