On June 7 or the day of Dragon Boat Festival, the elaborate activity of Rainbow Bubble Run was held at Heishangu (Black Mountain Valley) in Wansheng, attracting more than 1,000 citizens and over 200 foreigners from over ten countries such as the US, Pakistan, and Ukraine.

At 9 a.m., the runners departed from the north gate of the Black Mountain Valley Scenic Area and crossed the 13-kilometer-long valley. The onlookers along the way sprayed bubbles and threw colored cornflour mixed with realgar and Chinese herbal medicines over the players to help them drive away from the five poisonous creatures. The athletes, decorated with bubble beards and foamy, white hair ran, to the laughter and acclaim of onlookers.

After the race, these foreigners made rice dumplings and perfume satchels and did grass stem competition with local citizens, indeed experiencing an authentic Dragon Boat Festival and the traditional Chinese culture.
Zardari, an international student from Pakistan, said: “The Bubble Run of the Dragon Boat Festival was full of surprises and fun. We can enjoy the nice and soft rice dumplings and learn about Qu Yuan (a Chinese poet and politician who lived during the Warring States Period (475-221 B.C.)). The Chinese Dragon Boat Festival is unexpectedly wonderful and interesting.”
