A platform for the two-way exchange of talent and resources among Chongqing, Hong Kong, and Macao is under construction. Licensed by Chongqing Municipal Development and Reform Commission, Chongqing Municipal Commission of Commerce, Hong Kong & Macao Affairs Office of Chongqing Municipal People’s Government, Liangjiang New Area Administrative committee and Chongqing Municipal Committee of Chinese Communist Youth League, the Awarding Ceremony of Chongqing Hong Kong-Macao Youth Innovation Entrepreneurship Base of MK SPACE (the base) opened on May 13. Attendees included the personnel in charge of Chongqing offices and business associations of Hong Kong and Macao and enterprise representatives of the two regions.

The base aims to develop into a platform for the two-way exchange of talent and resources among Chongqing, Hong Kong, and Macao. Therefore, it will enhance the exchange and cooperation in innovation and entrepreneurship among the youth in the three regions. After completion, it plans to provide two-way services for the enterprises through the interaction between onshore and cross-border offshore branches.

The onshore branch adopts the mode of 1+1+N (1 core supporting zone—Liangjiang New Area; 1 core exhibition platform—MK SPACE), to serve Hong Kong and Macao enterprises in Chongqing and even in West China.

The base will carry out regular exchange activities for entrepreneurs in the three regions, to offer the services for the settlement in Liangjiang New Area. The youth from Hong Kong and Macao can complete basic start-up items such as registration without the need to go to the site.

Moreover, the base will also accept on-the-spot registration administered by the police station. In this way, the personnel from Hong Kong and Macao can finish the registration of work and accommodation, which facilitates their start-up progress.

Chongqing will set up offshore branches in the two regions for overseas talent. Relying on the platform, local enterprises can enter overseas markets, and get listed and complete project matching and implementation in Hong Kong. Therefore, this base plays a vital role in sharing the dividends from the joint development of the Belt and Road Initiative, boosting the transfer of overseas scientific and technological achievements in Chongqing, and promoting overseas talent to conduct applied research there.
