This is a magical and beautiful place with a very long history. Balahu is not a lake landscape or a simple scenic spot. It is a word in Tujia language that means “canyon”. Qianjiang District was granted the title of “Fresh and Cool Canyon City” by the Chinese meteorological society and it’s known as the “Canyon and Cove City”. In this mysterious Balahu, folk culture, traditional crafts, and so on are kept from the past until modern society.
